Tap challenges the body and the mind in more ways than most art forms – and turns young artists into confident, intelligent, graceful citizens.

Choreo Records offers a boutique dance experience where intergenerational friendships and mentorships are encouraged to thrive, dancers learn proven techniques from professional artists, and amazingly unique performance opportunities await.

mentorship

Ages from 6 to 18 train together, which allows younger and older students to learn not only from teachers – but also from one another – and creates a more organic and shared experience.

technique

While technique is the foundation of Choreo Records, it's not the only thing young dancers learn. We include history, music theory, improv, live music, and acting classes to mold well-rounded performances and more dynamic artists. Aside from our Sunday rehearsals, we require our dancers to remain in their weekly tap technique classes at their home studios as members of the ensemble. Weekly technique classes reinforce lessons and allow for extra time honing our craft.

performance

We've opened for Polyphonic Spree. We've shot original films. We've even danced at various festivals – and busked along Greenville! We partner with different artists to create exciting opportunities for our dancers, and because we choose to remain a small company – there's a ton of stage time! PLUS – Every Season (August – May) culminates in a large, professional production to showcase each dancer's skills.

FAQ

Q: How much is tuition and what does it include EACH MONTH?

Tuition is $225/month per dancer for up to 16 hours of technique and choreography with seasoned, professional dancers and local musicians – which culminates in a final production, guided by an award-winning director, to showcase hard work and skilled choreography.

Q: WHEN DO YOU PERFORM?

OUR LARGEST PRODUCTION HAPPENS IS OUR SELF-PRODUCED LIVE SHOW IN MARCH, BUT WE PERFORM REGULARLY WITH OTHER COMPANIES THROUGHOUT THE SEASON.

Q: WHERE DO YOU PERFORM?

We partner with local creative and artistic organizations and venues throughout the DFW area, including The Majestic, Texas Theater, Arts Mission Oak Cliff, Trees, Courtyard Theater, Pocket Sandwich Theater, Club Dada, and others to create show-stopping concerts.

Q: DO YOU PARTICIPATE IN COMPETITIONS?

At Choreo Records, we emphasize artistry, not rivalry. We encourage our artists to grow with concerts, not competitions.

Q: Are you affiliated with Contemporary Ballet Dallas?

Nope! They are dear friends that allow us to rent space. That's the extent of our relationship.

Auditions will take place in July for our next season
