Alexi put on her first pair of tap shoes at age three and hasn’t taken them off much since. Ballet, jazz, lyrical, hip-hop, musical theatre, and contemporary are all styles she has trained in, but tap has always been her favorite by far.

Alexi was a member of Dallas’ Drawbacks Youth Tap Ensemble from 2009-2013 and was so grateful to be able to study under the direction of Katelyn Harris and Keira Leverton. Being a part of DYTE gave Alexi the chance to perform at numerous shows and festivals including Soul to Sole, National Tap Dance Day at Fair Park, Plano Dance Festival and many more. Over the past several summers she has traveled to Austin, San Antonio, and Chicago to participate in Soul to Sole, Third Coast Rhythm Project, and Chicago Human Rhythm Project. At those tap festivals she has been fortunate enough to learn from some of the greatest tappers in the world of tap dance, such as Dianne Walker, Acia Gray, Barbara Phillips, Derick Grant, Jason Janas, Tre Dumas, Gene Medler, Josh Hilberman, Michelle Dorrance, Tasha Lawson, Lisa La Touche, Nicole Hockenberry, Jay Fagan, Travis Knights, Matt Shields, Max Pollak, and Nicholas Young just to name a few.

Currently, Alexi is pursuing a degree in Speech Pathology at Baylor University with minors in Child & Family Studies and Dance. She works as a tap and jazz instructor at Joy’s School of Dance in Waco, Texas and teaches students ages 7 to 70! In her spare time Alexi is dedicated to Choreo Records Youth Ensemble and hopes to continue learning and growing as a tap dancer and teacher under the direction of the always fabulous Keira Leverton.
